A. Job
Title: Therapist – Community Outreach,
School based Groups
The therapist is accountable to the Director
of Prevention and Community Outreach to provide school based group therapy to
clients who have been identified by the school staff as youth who would benefit
from groups counseling.
B.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* 1.
Assess the group
dynamics of students in 6-12th grade and implement appropriate and
culturally
sensitive strategies to reach group objectives.
* 2. Provide psychoeducational
group therapy for identified clients.
* 3 Work with Schools to provide consistent and
effective services.
* 4.
Maintain appropriate case notes and files on
each case.
* 5. Administer pre and post surveys and collect
community and youth satisfaction surveys.
6. Professional Growth
* a.
Utilize educational opportunities and resources offered by the agency
and through the profession
for
continued development of skills and clinical expertise.
* b.
Use the knowledge and skills of his/her supervisor to increase counseling skills.

Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree preferred in Social Work,
Psychology or a related field, from an accredited institution.
2. In lieu of a Masters degree, an individual
with extensive group facilitation experience with a
Bachelors degree
in the above fields may be considered.
2.
Experience providing group counseling
preferred.
3. Required to provide proof of certification within
applicant's defined area: Certified
Social Worker,
Licensed Psychologist,
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Professional Counselor.
4. Subscription to the Statement
of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Youth and Family Services and
agreement with the
goal, purpose and objectives of the agency.
