Respite Care and Crisis Care
These services are provided to youth ages 6-17 who are typically referred by area Community Mental Health agencies. Referrals from the Department of Human Services and Juvenile Courts can be considered. These services are designed to meet the needs of children with mental health issues and their families who need a therapeutic break or crisis intervention.
Placement can occur in a secure residential home or community-based group home depending on risk behaviors of the youth. Short-term therapy is provided to youth in a secure crisis placement. Transportation to school may be provided depending on location of school and reason for child's placement. The average length of stay is two to three days.
