Focus on Wholeness
In 1960, the founders of Wedgwood Christian Services were dedicated to providing grace-filled care for children and teens in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Their goal was to provide care that helped restore physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual well-being – a holistic approach. As the organization grew and expanded services, it was easy to see that the best way to restore a sense of wholeness and make a lasting, meaningful, impact in the lives of kids was to also provide supports for the people in their lives as well.
When a child is struggling, often their siblings, parents and/or caregivers are also struggling in one way or another.
This is why Wedgwood services are available for children, teens, families, and adults. It is important for kids to be surrounded by healthy adults and family members. Services such as substance use disorder treatment, case management, family and individual counseling, parenting classes, and wraparound provide families with the support they need to find hope and healing, and create healthier, brighter futures.
These services can help family members work through their own trauma and/or mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges, or can give caregivers education and support on how to best care for kids in a way that will set them up for futures full of hope and possibility. This model allows Wedgwood to provide more individualized support for families by prioritizing the needs and goals of the child, caregivers, and family.
With preventative, residential, outpatient, and aftercare services, Wedgwood offers a comprehensive continuum of care that meets kids and their families where they are. Wedgwood’s dedicated, compassionate staff can support them through each step of their journey toward wholeness.
