Integrating Faith & Technology
We recently sat down with Wedgwood’s Director of IT, Nathan Kline for a Wedgwood Coffee Break Conversation. Nathan joined our team in March of 2020, just as we shifted to more of a virtual working model. He and his team were instrumental in making sure each person had the tools they needed to continue offering vital mental and behavioral health services.
The past year and a half have proved the absolute necessity of strong, reliable digital and virtual capabilities. Wedgwood not only immediately made services available through teletherapy when the pandemic hit, but also we fast-tracked technology upgrades and improvements to ensure our grace-filled care remain available to children, teens, families, and adults.
Upgrades and improvements include:
- Implemented Zoom as teletherapy platform to continue to provide services remotely.
- Launched a brand new, redesigned website
- Replaced old server hardware to ensure system uptime and data availability
- Enhanced security: VPN Solutions for remote workers, and two-factor authentication
- Upgraded internet speed from 10 MB cable connection to 250 MB fiber connection
- Consolidated and standardized network infrastructure.
In this Coffee Break Conversation, Nathan talks about how it is so much more than computers and technology – it’s about the work being done with them. “Being able to integrate those two things – work and faith together – I think, is tremendous,” he said.
