Hands, Feet, and Arms of Jesus
“He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” // Psalm 91:4 (NLT)”
What a time of year to reflect on the gift the Lord gave to protect us when He gave us his only child – covering us with his love to shield us from harm.
At Wedgwood’s Autism Center for Child Development, the team has been working with a young boy who, when feeling anxious or overwhelmed, compulsively bites and scrapes his arms. When faced with situations he finds stressful, he bites down on his arms, tearing his skin and leaving wounds.
To ensure that this boy could remain safe while continuing to learn essential communication and coping skills, our Autism Center team put together arm-guards, and extends their arms over the boy’s to protect him from harming himself while helping him learn more positive behaviors.
Being the hands, the feet, and the (protective-padded) arms of Jesus.
We are committed to extending God’s love here at Wedgwood Christian Services, no matter what that may look like for those who rely on our care. There is no greater commitment than this.
Recently, many officials and leading organizations have declared the declining mental health of young people a devastating crisis. Kids, adults, and families all across West Michigan with severe mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges need excellent care and support that is also provided with grace and love.
This is the core of who we are, and the level of quality, life-changing care Wedgwood is known for. Our Youth Treatment Specialists compassionately provide daily care and treatment to kids in our Residential Program. Therapist show His love through every counseling session and conversation. Community Programs provide a network of supportive advocates to students and families.
Your support shares this kind of love with His children. Grace-filled, compassionate, committed, and fully-engaged love.
Please prayerfully consider giving a gift to Wedgwood’s Children’s Annual Hope Fund to ensure children, teens, families, and adults in West Michigan can receive the life-changing care they need. You can give the gift of love, hope, and healing this Spring
