Herman Miller Cares Awards Wedgwood Grant
Wedgwood Christian Services received a $10,000 grant from Herman Miller Cares to support the donor-funded, life-changing Transforming Services. These services – Wellness & Activity Therapy, Employment Training, Chaplaincy & Young Life, Manasseh Outreach, and Prevention – are critical to helping kids and families, who have experienced tremendous trauma, heal and move toward hopeful futures.
“Through partnerships with businesses and foundations, Wedgwood is able to continue to provide professionally excellent and compassionate services that have a profound impact on those in our care,” said Randy Zylstra, Wedgwood President/CEO. “Herman Miller Cares has supported Wedgwood Christian Services in various ways for almost 35 years, and has helped ensure that kids in our care receive the compassion and treatment that restores hope and wholeness.”
Herman Miller Cares grants over $2 million each year to organizations serving youth and children in the communities around the world. Giving is deeply rooted in Herman Miller’s history – founder, D.J. De Pree, believed strongly that the company had this responsibility to the community. Through Herman Miller Cares, the corporate foundation, the aim is to inspire the next generation to do great things by becoming civil citizens and stewards of humanity.
Employee-led Giving Boards ensure that Herman Miller Cares giving focuses on youth and children, engages Herman Miller employees, and has a positive impact on local communities. Nonprofit organizations that align with the giving principles may request grants to support their charitable objectives.
