Wedgwood is the state leader in transitional-aged youth substance use disorder treatment. We offer the largest continuum of care to the largest volume of clients, and the program is staffed by masters-level prepared clinicians.
Our substance abuse services provide an atmosphere of support for individuals to examine the results of their substance use. The primary goal is to help individuals take the next step in their recovery. Motivational interviewing is a major component in earlier stages of treatment. Later stages of treatment focus on creating a new lifestyle, coping triggers and urges, and maintaining a strong commitment to recovery
This is a 6-week long group that runs Tuesday, April 1st through Wednesday, May 14th. (No group April 8th-10th for Spring Break)
In-person meetings are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:00pm-6:00pm.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program is designed for adolescents (ages 13-17) with moderate to significant substance use.
The goal is to intervene and provide:
Intensive Outpatient Programs typically stabilize 3 out of 4 clients, and act as a preventative measure to help clients avoid residential services.
An ongoing dialogue with parents is encouraged and once the adolescent is stabilized they are referred to individual and family counseling.
In Michigan only 5.3% of adolescents get the treatment they need. We are in the midst of a state wide substance use epidemic with teens. The State of Michigan has responded by creating a Michigan Youth Treatment Infrastructure Enhancement (MYTIE) workgroup, of which Wedgwood is a prominent member, assisting the State in designing and delivering enhanced services to adolescents.
