Local Spa and Boutique Giving Through Holiday Sales
Lorde Beauty Gives to Bring Restoration
Lorde Beauty, a Grand Rapids-based spa and cosmetics boutique, is partnering with Wedgwood Christian Services to transform lives this holiday season. Black Friday through Christmas Day, Lorde Beauty will be donating 5% of all in-store and online sales of their exclusive ecoluxe, clean, indie beauty and skincare products to Wedgwood’s Manasseh Project!
Since the boutique’s opening, Lorde has donated a percentage of product sales to support Wedgwood’s Manasseh Project, which is dedicated to fighting sexual exploitation and trafficking.
“Our image, the image we are made in, and how we see ourselves really matters,” said Rachel Williams, Lorde Beauty Founder. “When someone has been compromised, in any way, like victims of trafficking, it’s hard for them to see their beauty and to see restoration in view. And Wedgwood does such an amazing, amazing job restoring these kids – so that they see themselves as a whole and just absolutely beautiful. I wanted to partner up with Wedgwood and empower the kids they serve in that way.”
“The generous contributions from Lorde, and other community partners, support Wedgwood’s Manasseh Project Outreach,” said Vivian TerMaat, Wedgwood’s Chief Advancement Officer. “What we’ve found that is so important and effective is having our experts go to schools, talk to healthcare and law enforcement professionals, talk to folks about identifying victims. This is critical because if we can’t identify victims, we can’t reach them and provide the vital treatment they need. We need to help people in the community acknowledge and be aware that this a reality.
