‘Norah’s’ Story

After a year and a half at Wedgwood, she was packed and ready to move on to the next chapter in her young life. Before she left that day, she placed two small white envelopes on the kitchen table of the Cook-Claus Home, a place that had become her home. It was the safest place she’d ever lived. Those envelopes contained thank you notes for Sarai and Mary, two women who work at Wedgwood, providing treatment, care, and structure for girls who have survived significant abuse and trauma. ‘Norah’ wanted to thank them both for not giving up on her during her combative early days at Wedgwood. She also shared that she’d heard what they’d repeatedly said to her about self-worth and being a child of God and that she would carry that wisdom and encouragement with her forever.

Her experience at Wedgwood hadn’t been easy but it did equip her with tools she’d never had before, that would be essential to building a healthy and hopeful life. Donors like you, help make a difference to young people like ‘Norah’ by making Wedgwood’s life-changing services a reality. Your support makes all the difference!

This year, especially this year of unimaginable challenges, we invite you to go to www.wedgwood.org/give to make a contribution to the Children’s Hope Annual Fund or text WEDGWOOD to 41444. Your gift will help ensure that young people like ‘Norah’ who call Wedgwood home continue to experience the compassion and care they need in order to overcome their challenges, even more so, during this time of increased need.
