This co-ed program serves boys and girls who have a developmental disability and/or intellectual disability falling within or around the mild to moderate disability range. The goal of the program is to assist the youth to acquire the adaptive behavior and living skills needed so they can return to the community or other less restrictive setting.
This program is for male and female clients, ages 6-17 years old. Youth served should be diagnosed with both of the following treatment needs:
Youth are evaluated on several criteria to determine appropriateness for placement and if they meet the minimum health and ability requirements.
Referrals are made through an agency that will provide funding for services, such as Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) or Juvenile Courts. In general, insurance does not pay for residential treatment at Wedgwood.
