Wedgwood Announces New CEO
The Wedgwood Christian Services Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Dan Gowdy as President and Chief Executive Officer.
Gowdy will begin this new leadership role effective May 19, following the retirement of current President and Chief Executive Officer, Randy Zylstra, after over 25 years of dedicated service to Wedgwood.
Gowdy brings to Wedgwood nearly 30 years of serving and leading local Christian non-profit agencies, including 16 years in operations and 14 years in executive leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Theology degree from Grace Christian University and a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Dan’s caliber and experience as the next leader of Wedgwood,” said Jennifer Greenop, Chairperson of the Board of Directors. “He has a proven track record of collaboration, leadership and execution. Dan is a strong communicator who is staff and client-focused with deep faith and a background in servant leadership. I also cannot thank Randy Zylstra enough for his leadership over the years. He has exemplified our mission and values and he will be greatly missed by all of us. We are excited for him as he embarks on his retirement and the experiences that will bring and we look forward to a time when we can gather together to thank him and celebrate his impact on the organization. ”
“I am grateful for my time at Wedgwood. I am definitely a better person for having served here. I will be forever thankful to those who contribute to the integrity of this organization and its Christian mission. Wedgwood is blessed to have wonderful staff, board-members, and community partners. I confidently prepare to hand over leadership responsibilities to Dan,” said Randy Zylstra.
Gowdy said, “Wedgwood is one of Michigan’s most highly regarded organizations for helping children, youth, and families, taking on the toughest programs at the core of what makes a thriving community. Working alongside talented and dedicated professionals that give God credit for these excellent results is both an honor and privilege.”
