Wedgwood Awarded for Excellence in Fundraising

The West Michigan Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals recognized Wedgwood Christian Services with The West Michigan Chapter Award for Excellence in Fundraising, as a part of their National Day of Philanthropy event. This award recognizes a nonprofit organization that has developed creative, resourceful, and inspired campaigns, initiatives, projects or techniques that have grown and increased the organization’s fundraising infrastructure, program and results.

Wedgwood was honored specifically for the Faith in Our Future Capital Campaign – a campaign to inspire and promote emotional and physical well-being through renovating aging facilities, improving services to effectively meet the challenges of youth in our community, and securing a future for generations to come. The campaign had a $6.9 million goal which was met, and surpassed by nearly $400,000, in under 8 months.

“We are humbled by this recognition on National Philanthropy Day from the Association of Fundraising Professionals of West Michigan,” said Vivian TerMaat, Wedgwood’s Chief Advancement Officer. “Our Advancement Team is dedicated to sharing the powerful stories of transformation happening in the lives of children and families, through services at Wedgwood. Those stories touch hearts and inspire donors to continue to support our mission and for that we are truly grateful.”

Wedgwood Christian Services used stories of transformation in this creative and inspired fundraising campaign that increased funds raised and attracted new donors, which allowed the organization to streamline administrative structure, and accomplish the goals in a short amount of time. This accomplishment also signifies a great community of supportive donors and business partners who believe in the mission and work that Wedgwood Christian Services has been committed to for over 60 years.
